Intelligence agencies have issued a security alert for Delhi and Uttarakhand after receiving inputs suggesting that Khalistani terrorists may be planning to target key locations in the coming days, according to sources in the intelligence establishment. The alert reportedly warns of possible attacks on temples in both Delhi and Uttarakhand. Government buildings, railway stations, and police installations have also been identified as potential targets.

Sources said the warning was sent via email, which allegedly mentions several temples, government offices, and political figures as possible targets. Following the alert, Delhi Police, Uttarakhand Police, and intelligence agencies have stepped up vigilance. Security checks at sensitive sites are being reviewed and strengthened as a precaution.

Delhi Police has also begun investigating the email to verify its authenticity and trace its origin, officials said. Similar alerts were issued around January 26, warning of possible attempts by proscribed Khalistani groups and Bangladesh-based terror outfits to target New Delhi and other cities during Republic Day celebrations.

Another alert in February had flagged a potential threat near the Red Fort, with inputs suggesting that a temple in the Chandni Chowk area could be targeted. According to intelligence sources, key religious sites—including areas around the Red Fort and parts of Chandni Chowk—have remained on the radar of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
