On Monday, January 13, 2025, India summoned Bangladesh’s Deputy High Commissioner, Md. Nural Islam, following ongoing tensions along the India-Bangladesh border. This move came a day after Bangladesh's interim government voiced its "deep concern" over the current situation at the border.
The focus on the India-Bangladesh border has intensified since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina Government on August 5, 2024. In the aftermath, several incidents have been reported at various border locations, where members of the former ruling party, Awami League, and Bangladeshi citizens were seen attempting to cross into Indian territories.
