Hyderabad: FIR Filed Against BRS Working President KTR Over Alleged Provocative Remarks

An FIR has been lodged against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao over allegations of making a provocative speech that incited hostility among groups and threatened public peace. The complaint was filed by Congress MLC Venkat Balmoor Narsing Rao. In his Thursday complaint, Balmoor claimed that KTR's speech was not only defamatory towards Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy but also incited unrest among the public.
According to the FIR submitted to the Cyber Crimes police in Hyderabad, the complaint accuses KT Rama Rao of making inflammatory remarks during a press conference, which were later shared on social media. These statements, the complaint alleges, contained baseless accusations, offensive language, and misleading claims aimed at damaging the Chief Minister’s reputation and disturbing public harmony.
Balmoor urged the police to take action against KTR for promoting hatred between groups, inciting public mischief, and disrupting social order. He emphasized the importance of maintaining respectful public discourse and urged authorities to uphold peace and integrity in the state by invoking appropriate provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS) and the Information Technology Act. Balmoor also addressed the media, where he criticized KT Rama Rao and reiterated his demands for legal action.
