At least 15 people were injured after a massive fire broke out in a naphtha-carrying pipeline at the Haldia Petrochemicals complex in West Bengal's Purba Medinipur district early Tuesday morning. The incident triggered a large-scale emergency response as firefighters and refinery personnel rushed to contain the blaze. According to preliminary reports, the fire erupted between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. in a section of the pipeline network handling naphtha, a highly flammable petroleum product widely used in the petrochemical industry. Thick black smoke and towering flames were seen rising from the site, alarming nearby residents and workers.

Several workers present near the affected area suffered burn injuries and were immediately shifted to hospitals for treatment.
