Foxconn Chairman Young Liu said on Friday that the company can now produce 1,000 AI racks each week and expects that output to rise next year. He made the remarks during the company’s tech day, attended by partners such as Nvidia and OpenAI, with founder Terry Gou also present. Foxconn, best known as Apple’s main iPhone assembler, has been expanding into electric vehicles and AI data centres. It is now Nvidia’s primary manufacturer of AI racks — specialised server units built for AI workloads that include chips, cabling, and other hardware.

This shift has positioned Foxconn as a major winner in the data centre boom, as cloud companies pour billions into expanding their AI infrastructure. Last week, Foxconn projected strong AI-related demand, calling it a key driver of growth in 2026. Liu also told Reuters that the company plans to invest $2 billion to $3 billion annually in AI.

At the event, Liu added that Foxconn’s EV output is reaching a point where more automakers could outsource production to the company, and it plans to showcase vehicles designed for the Japanese market. He also noted that Foxconn is now working on quantum computing. In a separate address, Neo Yao, CEO of Foxconn subsidiary Visionbay.ai, said the firm intends to launch a 27-megawatt data centre equipped with Nvidia’s top-tier GB300 chips in the first half of 2026. He said it will be Taiwan’s largest advanced GPU cluster and the first GB300-based AI data centre in Asia.
