FM Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Assam on November 7 and 8, followed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's visit on November 9.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Assam on November 7 and 8, while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit the state on November 9. During her two-day tour, Sitharaman will inaugurate two major projects in Guwahati and lay the foundation stone of a state university. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that on November 7, she will visit the Jagiroad Semiconductor plant site and inaugurate the Guwahati Gateway Terminal, a modern river terminal, along with the Guwahati riverfront project. On November 8, she will lay the foundation stone of Swahid Kanaklata Barua State University at Bholaguri Tea Estate in Gohpur.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will arrive in Assam on November 9 to attend a grand Air Show at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati, organized by the Indian Air Force (IAF). The event will feature a spectacular flying display over the Brahmaputra River as part of the Air Force Day celebrations. The theme for this year’s event, “Infallible, Impervious and Precise,” reflects the IAF’s commitment to excellence, resilience, and precision in every mission.
The air show will include coordinated formations of fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters, demonstrating the IAF’s technological capabilities and professionalism. The breathtaking aerial maneuvers aim to inspire citizens and showcase India’s aerial strength. Beyond the spectacle, the event seeks to encourage youth across the Northeast to explore career opportunities in the IAF and foster a spirit of patriotism, discipline, and national service. Designated viewing areas will be arranged for the public along the riverbank.
