Delhi Police on Monday called in three additional teachers for questioning in connection with the suicide of a 16-year-old Class 10 student who died at Rajendra Place Metro Station. Two teachers had already been questioned on Sunday, and several students have also been examined as part of the probe. Earlier, the central Delhi–based school had suspended four staff members.

The student’s parents have demanded strict action, alleging that their son had been under intense mental pressure due to repeated harassment by teachers. Speaking to ANI, the father said his son was bright and had earned many medals, and that nothing in their last conversation hinted he would take such a drastic step. He added that for the past four months, the boy had been telling them that teachers were troubling him, and that many parents and students are now protesting for justice. The mother echoed this, saying her son must receive justice and those responsible should face the harshest punishment so no other child suffers similarly.

On November 21, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood announced that the government had set up an inquiry committee amid increasing public outrage over the teenager’s death. He said the school had also initiated action, and that he would write to all schools to ensure they are monitoring students’ mental health and well-being in line with CBSE guidelines. He emphasized that the government is ready to provide support, expressing concern over students’ mental health.

The Class 10 student, who allegedly ended his life at Rajendra Place Metro Station, left behind a note accusing his teachers of harassment and urging strict action against them. According to the FIR filed on November 18, the boy had repeatedly complained to his parents about certain teachers’ behaviour, but their requests for intervention went unanswered. That day, while his father was away, he left for school and later allegedly jumped from Platform No. 2 of the metro station. Police recovered his school bag containing the suicide note. The FIR further states that the student had often reported being scolded, insulted, and mentally harassed by some teachers over minor issues. Despite multiple verbal complaints by the parents to both teachers and the principal, the alleged mistreatment continued.
