Commuters across Delhi, Gurugram and Noida may face travel delays on Monday as traffic restrictions and security arrangements affect movement across several parts of the national capital. Entry and exit at six Delhi Metro stations have been suspended, while diversions at major junctions could lead to congestion on important roads. The restrictions come amid heightened security arrangements for a planned opposition march towards the Supreme Court over issues related to electoral roll revision. Authorities have advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and check the latest traffic updates before leaving home.

According to reports, the Delhi Traffic Police introduced restrictions from 6 am, with diversions possible at several locations depending on the situation. Key areas likely to experience traffic disruptions include Mandi House, Patel Chowk, Jhandewalan, Dhaula Kuan flyover, Lodhi Road flyover and parts of Connaught Place. Roads around Rail Bhawan, Jantar Mantar, RML Hospital, Bhikaji Cama Place and Moti Bagh flyover may also experience slower movement as security arrangements remain in place.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has suspended entry and exit at six stations: Patel Chowk, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat and Barakhamba Road. The restrictions were reported to be in effect from 6 am to 4 pm, subject to further directions from security agencies. Interchange facilities were reported to remain operational at the affected stations. Passengers are advised to check the latest DMRC announcements before travelling, especially if their regular routes involve central Delhi.

The traffic situation could also affect commuters travelling between Delhi and neighbouring cities. Office-goers from Gurugram and Noida heading towards central Delhi may need additional time, particularly if their journeys involve affected roads or busy connecting routes. People travelling to railway stations, bus terminals, government offices and the airport should check their routes before departure to avoid unexpected delays.

Rain and waterlogging at some locations across the region could add to the pressure on roads. Waterlogged stretches can slow vehicle movement and cause congestion to build up at nearby intersections. However, the extent of delays in Gurugram and Noida will depend on local road conditions and traffic movement.

Commuters have been advised to follow instructions from traffic personnel, use alternative routes where necessary and avoid restricted areas. Metro passengers should confirm station access before starting their journeys. The latest information can be checked through the Delhi Traffic Police website and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation website. Traffic arrangements may change as the situation develops, making real-time updates important for anyone travelling across Delhi-NCR. Commuters are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and remain alert to official announcements throughout the day.
