Delhi govt to file FIR against Kejriwal over teacher misinformation: Sood

Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood on Friday announced that the government has decided to lodge a police complaint over the spread of false information concerning teachers in the capital. He alleged that former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was responsible for circulating misleading claims through a social media post, prompting the government to proceed with registering an FIR after careful consideration.
Speaking to ANI, Sood said that the administration had taken a thoughtful decision to act against the misinformation being shared about Delhi’s teachers, adding that Kejriwal had spread the false narrative through a tweet. He stated that, following extensive deliberations, the government chose to file a formal complaint against him.
Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticised the BJP-led Delhi government, alleging that it had directed educational institutions, schools, and stadiums to appoint nodal officers to handle issues related to stray dogs. In a post on X, Kejriwal questioned whether teachers were expected to focus on educating students or monitor stray dogs on the streets. He further accused the BJP government of disrespecting teachers and undermining the education system. Kejriwal claimed that the order reflected the ruling party’s priorities, asserting that education was not a concern for them and that they were damaging schools and insulting teachers.
Additionally, Kejriwal contrasted the current administration with the previous AAP government, stating that his party had prioritised education, reduced unnecessary administrative burdens on teachers, invested in their training, and improved school infrastructure. He alleged that the present BJP-led government was dismantling those achievements.
