A team of 40 scientists from the Defence Research and Development Organisation visited INS Dega, a major air station of the Indian Navy, to gain deeper insight into naval aviation operations and technologies. The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between India’s defence research community and the Navy while enhancing understanding of operational aviation requirementsDuring the programme, the delegation received detailed briefings on the various aircraft platforms operated by the Navy, along with their operational roles and capabilities. Officials also highlighted the growing contribution of DRDO towards indigenisation and the development of advanced naval aviation technologies, underlining the importance of reducing reliance on foreign systems and boosting self-reliance in critical aerospace sectors.

The scientists were given direct exposure to aviation operations and maintenance activities at the air station.
