Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday asserted that India is not facing any shortage of fuel or gas and is well-prepared to tackle any possible energy crisis stemming from the ongoing tensions in West Asia. He emphasized that the government is keeping a close watch on the situation and has taken necessary steps to ensure energy security for the country.

Speaking at a Sainik Samman Sammelan in poll-bound Kerala, Singh highlighted the role of the Indian Navy in safeguarding the nation’s energy supplies. He said that naval ships are actively escorting Indian oil tankers through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, ensuring their safe passage amid regional uncertainties.

The defence minister also underlined that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is using his diplomatic outreach effectively to protect India’s interests in the Gulf region. According to Singh, India’s strong international relations and proactive approach are helping maintain stability and secure vital resources during challenging times.

Reassuring the public, Singh stated that the government is fully alert and prepared to respond to any developments arising from the West Asia situation. He added that all necessary measures are in place to prevent disruptions and maintain a steady supply of fuel and gas across the country.

During his address, Singh also appealed to voters in Kerala to support the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming assembly elections. He claimed that the party is capable of bringing meaningful change to the state through its policies and governance model. Referring to “Modi’s guarantees,” he described the prime minister’s leadership as reliable and time-tested, comparing it to pure gold. Kerala, which has 140 assembly constituencies, is scheduled to vote on April 9.
