The Tis Hazari Court has issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding Sandeepa Virk’s bail application. Virk, who was arrested on August 12, faces a prosecution complaint filed by the ED along with co-accused Amit Gupta. Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Vijay Shankar directed the ED to respond to the bail plea, including providing details of the accused’s previous involvement in cases and a status report of all pending cases, at the next hearing. The bail petition is scheduled for consideration on October 28.

The ED has charged Sandeepa Virk and Amit Gupta under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The case traces back to a 2016 registration at Phase 8 Police Station, SAS Nagar, Mohali, under Sections 406 and 420 of the IPC against Amit Gupta. The ED claims that the cheating offense under Section 420 IPC qualifies as a scheduled offense under the PMLA, leading to the registration of a case on August 11, 2025.

According to the ED, both accused allegedly engaged in money laundering. The investigation revealed that Virk acquired immovable property through false promises and fraudulent practices. She purportedly owns hyboocare.com, a website claiming to sell FDA-approved beauty products, but the ED alleges that the products do not exist.

Search operations conducted by the ED on August 12 and 13, 2025, in Delhi and Mumbai were part of an ongoing probe into Virk and her associates for misrepresentation and soliciting money under false pretenses. The website reportedly lacked user registration, had persistent payment issues, minimal social media presence, an inactive WhatsApp number, limited product offerings, inflated pricing, and false FDA claims, suggesting it was used as a front for laundering funds, the ED claimed.
