The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) led a joint counter-terrorism mock drill at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi on Monday to evaluate emergency response systems and security preparedness. The large-scale exercise was conducted under the supervision of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Chief Airport Security Officer (CASO) of the Aviation Security Group (ASG) Delhi. It aimed to strengthen crisis response mechanisms and improve coordination among multiple agencies.

In a post on X, CISF said senior officials from the force and various aviation stakeholders took part in the drill to ensure maximum operational readiness. According to the statement, personnel from CISF, Delhi Police, NSG, BDDS, DFS, DIAL, BCAS, AAI, and other agencies participated in the exercise. The mock drill focused on testing real-time emergency response, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and preparing for emerging security threats at airports.

The force also noted that the exercise demonstrated quick response, smooth coordination, and strong preparedness, reaffirming its commitment to aviation security and national safety. A similar counter-terrorism drill was also conducted at IGI Airport involving multiple security and emergency agencies, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve preparedness against evolving threats.

CISF is responsible for securing airports across India and ensuring the protection of key government-owned industrial and infrastructure assets. It also recently confirmed its deployment at the newly inaugurated Phase I of Noida International Airport in Jewar, stating its commitment to strong security, smooth passenger handling, and protection of critical infrastructure.
