Bomb threat email sent to Mohali schools; police launch search operations.

Several well-known schools in Mohali, S.A.S. Nagar, Punjab, received threatening emails around 7:30 a.m. today. In response, authorities sealed off the campuses, announced a holiday for students and staff, and deployed bomb disposal units, anti-sabotage teams, ARP teams, and local police to carry out detailed inspections.
SP City Mohali Dilpreet Singh confirmed that extensive search operations are underway and that no suspicious items have been found so far. He stated that three prominent schools were targeted and that specialized teams, along with Gazetted Officers, DSPs, and SPs, are present on-site conducting thorough checks. As a precaution, the schools have been cordoned off to prevent any risk to life or property. Singh assured that updates would be provided if any credible evidence emerges, adding that investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the emails.
He also urged the public to remain calm and avoid panic, emphasizing that while no suspicious objects have been discovered yet, authorities are treating the matter with utmost seriousness. Nine schools in Delhi also received bomb threat emails between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Delhi Police, along with fire and bomb disposal teams, responded swiftly and carried out searches at the affected institutions.
