BNM Calls Reported Surab Airstrikes a War Crime, Urges EU to Reconsider Pakistan s GSP Status.

The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has condemned the Pakistan Air Force’s reported airstrikes in the Gidar area of Balochistan’s Surab district, describing the alleged bombardment as a “blatant war crime.” The organisation claimed that strikes on residential areas killed more than 20 civilians, including children below the age of 10.

In a post on X, a BNM spokesperson expressed serious concern over alleged human rights violations and the safety of civilians across Balochistan. The group alleged that attacks targeting civilian populations and the deaths of children constituted violations of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions.

The BNM also accused the Pakistan Army of being involved in a wider campaign that allegedly includes indiscriminate force against civilians, destruction of homes and forced displacement. It further claimed that local politicians and political parties supporting or facilitating such actions should also be held responsible.

Calling for international intervention, the BNM urged the European Union and other international organisations to take immediate action over what it described as a growing humanitarian crisis. It specifically called on the EU to suspend Pakistan’s GSP+ trade preferences, arguing that the scheme is linked to commitments on human rights and international standards.

The organisation also appealed to international media outlets to provide factual and impartial coverage of developments in Balochistan. It accused ISPR of promoting a one-sided narrative and urged journalists to independently verify claims. The BNM demanded an independent investigation into the reported strikes and civilian casualties, warning that continued inaction could worsen the humanitarian situation and undermine confidence in international institutions.
