The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed that more than 80 Pakistani military and intelligence personnel were killed during a coordinated offensive, dubbed Operation Almas, across Gwadar and surrounding areas of Balochistan. The claims, reported by India Today on October 28, have not been independently verified.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the operation began on October 22 and targeted military installations, intelligence facilities and security checkpoints at multiple locations. The group described the offensive as one of its most extensive recent operations against Pakistani security forces. According to the BLF, its fighters inflicted substantial casualties on government forces and destroyed 12 armoured vehicles and military supply trucks. The organisation also claimed that its fighters brought down four quadcopters and two surveillance drones during the clashes. These battlefield claims have not been independently confirmed.

One of the principal targets identified by the group was a Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) camp in Gwadar. The BLF said its fighters also attacked security positions in Gabd and Rimdan, areas near Pakistan's border. According to the organisation, its fighters maintained control of the main FWO camp for more than 20 hours while fighting Pakistani security personnel.

The group further claimed that the offensive extended across several locations in and around Gwadar, targeting military infrastructure and surveillance equipment. It also asserted that its fighters took control of two police stations during the operation, although independent confirmation of these claims was not available.

Another element highlighted in the BLF's account was the involvement of female fighters. The organisation said Operation Almas was named after Commander Almas Baloch, whom it credited with an important role in planning and leading the offensive. The operation comes against the backdrop of a prolonged insurgency in Balochistan, where separatist groups have carried out attacks on security forces, government facilities and infrastructure projects. Gwadar holds particular strategic importance because of its deep-sea port and its role in regional economic development initiatives.

The BLF also threatened further attacks against Pakistani security installations and economic projects, including those associated with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The warning suggests that the group intends to continue targeting infrastructure and assets it associates with the Pakistani state. The latest claims highlight persistent security concerns in Balochistan, where armed separatist groups have opposed government authority and several major development projects. However, the reported death toll, the alleged destruction of military equipment and the extent of the group's territorial control remain unverified and should be treated as claims made by the BLF rather than established facts.
