Anthropic has reached a valuation of 380 billion dollar following a 30 billion dollar funding round.

Anthropic has secured $30 billion in its latest funding round, pushing its valuation to $380 billion and highlighting strong investor enthusiasm for both the company and the wider AI sector. The company has set itself apart by emphasizing coding-focused model training, with its Claude Code tool gaining significant popularity among developers and strengthening its competitive position in the enterprise AI space.
Anthropic’s recent release of plugins for its Cowork AI agent triggered a sharp global sell-off in software stocks, as investors weighed the potential disruptive impact of advanced AI systems. The funding round, announced Thursday, was co-led by firms including D. E. Shaw Ventures, ICONIQ, and MGX, and also included previously disclosed investments from Microsoft and Nvidia. The company is also backed by Google and Amazon.
Earlier in September, Anthropic had raised $13 billion in a Series F round that valued it at $183 billion. Meanwhile, rival OpenAI could reach a valuation of about $830 billion as part of discussions with SoftBank Group over a potential additional $30 billion investment, according to Reuters. Anthropic has rapidly expanded its revenue, reporting a current annualized run rate of $14 billion. Revenue from Claude Code alone has surpassed $2.5 billion annually, more than doubling since early 2026. Business subscriptions have quadrupled this year, with enterprise customers now generating more than half of Claude Code’s revenue. The company has also strengthened its enterprise offerings through tools like its Cowork AI agent, designed to automate workplace computer tasks.
In contrast to many tech firms, Anthropic has taken a proactive stance on AI regulation. It has pledged $20 million to support U.S. political candidates who favor regulating the AI industry, emphasizing that AI developers have a duty to ensure their technology benefits society broadly. Blackstone has increased its investment in Anthropic to roughly $1 billion, further demonstrating strong institutional confidence in the company’s future.
