All IndiGo flights scheduled to depart from Delhi have been cancelled until midnight due to operational disruptions.

All IndiGo flights scheduled to depart from Delhi Airport on Friday have been cancelled until midnight, while flights operated by other airlines are running normally, according to an advisory issued by Delhi Airport. The notice stated, “All IndiGo domestic departures from Delhi Airport on 5 December 2025 are cancelled until 23:59 hours today. Operations for all other carriers remain unchanged. Our on-ground teams are working closely with partners to manage the disruption and assist passengers.”
Nationwide operational issues have led to over 500 IndiGo flights being delayed or cancelled, causing major inconvenience for travellers. Passengers across several airports reported severe frustration, claiming they were left stranded for hours without proper communication, food, or water. Many attributed the disruptions to staffing shortages and newly introduced rules for crew members.
Earlier, Delhi Airport had issued a separate advisory alerting passengers about delays and cancellations affecting some domestic flights. It urged travellers to check their flight status with their airline before heading to the airport. The airport reiterated that teams on the ground are working with airlines to minimise the impact and ensure passenger comfort, thanking travellers for their patience. Delhi Airport also confirmed that since the morning, 225 IndiGo flights—both arrivals and departures—have been cancelled from the capital, affecting a large number of passengers. Reports indicate that more than 500 IndiGo flights nationwide were cancelled on Friday.
IndiGo, currently dealing with widespread operational disruptions, has requested temporary exemptions from certain Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) rules for its A320 fleet until February 10, 2026. The airline assured the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) that operations will return to normal by that date. Following a detailed review meeting with IndiGo’s senior leadership, the DGCA said the airline has sought these exemptions to reduce passenger inconvenience while maintaining safety standards. IndiGo has also committed to taking corrective measures and restoring stability by February 10, 2026. The airline has recently seen a significant jump in cancellations, with roughly 170 to 200 flights affected each day—far above the usual number.
