AIMIM MLA Mir Zulfeqar Ali offered Eid-ul-Adha prayers at Makkah Masjid in Hyderabad on Thursday and extended festive greetings to the public. Speaking to ANI, he prayed that Allah accepts everyone’s sacrifices and prayers and appealed to citizens to keep their surroundings clean and cooperate with sanitation drives.
“I appeal to people to maintain cleanliness and contribute towards keeping the community neat and hygienic,” he said. AIMIM leader Waris Pathan also conveyed Eid-ul-Adha wishes to people across the country, describing the festival as a symbol of sacrifice, love, and communal harmony. In his message to ANI, Pathan stressed the importance of peace, unity, and brotherhood during the celebrations.
“I extend my heartfelt Eid-ul-Adha greetings to all Indians. This festival teaches us the values of love, affection, and sacrifice, and promotes harmony among people,” he said. Highlighting the global spirit of the occasion, Pathan said Eid serves as a reminder to spread goodwill and strengthen bonds of brotherhood. He expressed hope for continued peace and harmony in India and across the world.
He also urged people to celebrate responsibly by following the guidelines issued by religious scholars and authorities. Pathan appealed to citizens to avoid actions that may hurt religious sentiments or disturb communal harmony. “Celebrate Eid with peace and love. May Allah accept your sacrifices and prayers. Please observe the festival while strictly adhering to the prescribed guidelines,” he added.
Muslims across India began celebrating Eid al-Adha from early Thursday morning. Also known as Bakrid or the “festival of sacrifice,” the occasion is observed on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic lunar calendar, and coincides with the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca.
