Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, on Monday met sanitation workers, police personnel, and other staff members during his morning walk at Bhararisain in Chamoli. He interacted with those involved in ensuring the smooth functioning of the ongoing Assembly session and appreciated their efforts.
The Chief Minister also inspected the kitchen facilities where meals were being prepared for the staff. During the visit, he spoke with the kitchen workers and gathered details about their work and any requirements they might have. Later, he reviewed the gym facilities available at the premises. The Budget Session of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly is scheduled from March 9 to March 13, 2026, at the Vidhan Bhavan located in the state’s summer capital, Bharadisain (Gairsain).
While presenting the state’s Economic Survey, Principal Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram informed the media that Uttarakhand’s Gross State Domestic Product for 2024–25 reached Rs 3,81,889 crore, compared to Rs 2.54 lakh crore in 2021–22, reflecting a growth of more than one and a half times. CM Dhami paid a courtesy visit to Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, the Speaker of the Uttarakhand Assembly, in Bhararisain. On his arrival in Bharadisain, he was welcomed by MLA Anil Nautiyal, Chamoli District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar, SP Surjeet Singh Panwar, and local residents.
The Chief Minister also attended the Nari Tu Narayani programme organised at Mukhya Sevak Sadan in Dehradun to honour senior women on the occasion of International Womens Day. During the event, he felicitated 38 elderly women from across the state for their remarkable contributions in areas such as education, social service, entrepreneurship, environmental conservation, agriculture, culture, and water conservation.
Extending his wishes on International Women’s Day, Dhami said the programme recognises women whose dedication, struggles, and values have strengthened families, society, and the nation. He noted that women’s love, sacrifices, and blessings play a vital role in shaping future generations and driving social progress, often putting their own comfort aside to secure a better future for their children.
