The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force, continued the ongoing anti-terror Operation Trashi-I on Saturday after re-establishing contact with terrorists in the Dolgam area of Kishtwar district. Security forces have secured the area by establishing a cordon, and search and combat operations are actively underway.
According to an official statement shared by the White Knight Corps on X, contact with the terrorists was regained in the early hours of January 31, 2026. The operation is being conducted based on coordinated intelligence inputs gathered from multiple sources to ensure effective execution on the ground. The forces involved remain deployed in the area as the situation continues to be monitored closely.
Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited Kishtwar to review the counter-terrorism grid and assess operational preparedness. During his visit, he interacted with ground commanders and troops, appreciating their professionalism, high morale, and unwavering resolve in carrying out the operation under challenging conditions, the Indian Army said.
Operation Trashi-I was launched on January 18 in the Union Territory as part of sustained efforts to neutralize terrorist threats in the region. On January 19, the Army paid last tributes to Havildar Gajendra Singh, a Special Forces soldier who lost his life while executing a counter-terrorism mission in the Singhpora area of Chatroo in Kishtwar district. The White Knight Corps stated that Havildar Gajendra Singh made the supreme sacrifice while bravely carrying out his duties during the intervening night of January 18 and 19, 2026. The Army honored his courage, valor, and selfless dedication to duty, and expressed solidarity with his family during their time of grief.
