Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hoisted the saffron Dharma Dhwaj atop the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, marking a historic moment in the temples completion and spiritual significance. The 10x20 feet triangular flag, emblazoned with sacred symbols including the radiant Sun and the Om emblem, was raised on the 191-foot shikhar of the temple, symbolizing devotion, valor, and cultural pride.
The flag hoisting ceremony, attended by thousands of devotees and dignitaries, underscores the completion of the temple’s construction, which blends North Indian and South Indian architectural styles. This event follows the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol by Modi in January 2024 and represents a symbolic second sanctification of the temple.
The occasion also coincided with Vivah Panchami, commemorating Lord Ram and Sita’s wedding, adding to the spiritual fervor. The ceremony was carried out under the guidance of senior Acharyas from various regions, reflecting unity in Hindu traditions. This landmark event highlights Ayodhya’s emergence as a key pilgrimage and cultural center, reinforcing Indias rich heritage and faith.
