President Murmu participates in a public event held in Manipur's Senapati district.

President Droupadi Murmu visited Senapati district in Manipur, where she attended a public function and laid foundation stones and inaugurated several development projects, the President’s Secretariat said. Addressing the gathering on Friday, she подчеркed that ensuring dignity, security, and growth opportunities for tribal communities in Manipur, along with their active participation in national development, is a key national priority. She noted that the Government of India is working closely with local leadership, civil society, and communities to promote inclusive and sustainable development in the state.
According to the statement, the President said the government remains committed to taking development to every part of the country, with special focus on remote tribal regions. She highlighted that Manipur’s hill districts have seen targeted investments in recent years in sectors such as road and bridge connectivity, healthcare, education, drinking water, and electricity. Livelihood initiatives, including skill training programmes, self-help groups, and Van Dhan schemes, are helping improve people’s quality of life, reflecting the government’s resolve to support tribal communities while preserving their distinct identity and traditions.
President Murmu said Manipur’s true strength lies in its diversity of cultures, languages, and traditions, adding that the hills and the valley have always complemented each other like two sides of the same land. She called on all communities to support peace, mutual understanding, and reconciliation, and reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment to the welfare and progress of the people of Manipur. She urged everyone to continue working together to build a peaceful and prosperous state. The President paid tribute to Manipur’s brave women warriors at the Nupee Lal Memorial Complex in Imphal, which honors the sacrifices of Manipuri women who courageously rose against British and feudal rule.
