President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday visited Omkareshwar Temple and Mamleshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh, offering prayers to Lord Shiva and praying for the welfare, prosperity, and well-being of the citizens of India. Her visit formed part of her official engagements in the state, during which she performed darshan and participated in traditional rituals at both sacred temples.
Later, she attended a programme titled Empowerment of Tribal Society by Spiritual Awakening organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya in Betul, according to the President’s Secretariat. Addressing the gathering, she said that in today’s fast-paced consumption driven world spiritual purity has become essential for all sections of society as it supports balance and sustainability.
She added that such values are necessary to build a lifestyle that conserves natural resources and promotes long term harmony, especially in times of stress and conflict. She noted that tribal communities maintain a natural connection with spirituality through their close relationship with nature which encourages a collective welfare oriented lifestyle. She appreciated the efforts of the Brahma Kumaris organisation in working with tribal groups across India.
Emphasising that empowerment is not only economic, she said true development includes self confidence dignity awareness and social responsibility. She said spiritual awakening helps individuals recognise inner strength and align with positive thinking and higher life purpose. She called for collective efforts towards building a developed India by 2047 based on spirituality social harmony environmental conservation and human welfare. She reiterated that inclusive growth must integrate spiritual values with modern development so that society progresses in a balanced sustainable and humane manner while respecting diversity strengthening unity and ensuring long term well being for all citizens across the country effectively.
