President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Ayodhya on Thursday to offer prayers at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The program, which will run from 11 am to 2 pm, will include workers, vendors, and artisans who contributed to the temple’s construction. The city has been beautifully decorated for the occasion, with large banners and posters along major roads featuring images of the President, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Saffron flags and decorative pennants have added to the festive and religious atmosphere. Special arrangements have been made for security, sanitation, and traffic management.
During her visit, President Murmu will participate in religious rituals, perform aarti before the idol of Lord Ram, and install the Ram Yantra. She will also honour the construction workers for their dedicated efforts. Security measures are in place at Maharshi Valmiki International Airport in preparation for her arrival. Alok Kumar, International President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, said the President’s presence adds dignity to the event and it is fitting that the workers who built the temple are honoured. Anil Mishra, trustee of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, stated that around 6,000 people from across Uttar Pradesh have been invited, including workers, vendors, and artisans.
Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, Treasurer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, noted that after installing the Ram Yantra, the President will attend a stage program and visit the seven temples built within the complex. He emphasized the significance of the moment as the temple’s construction and installation are now complete, allowing devotees from across India and abroad to access it.
Champat Rai, Secretary of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, added that Mata Amritanandamayi Amma from Kerala will also be present to bless the ceremony. Around 6,000 individuals who contributed to the temple’s construction are expected to attend, including over 3,000 workers from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand who were involved in the Ram Janmabhoomi cause between 1984 and 2000. The event is expected to conclude by 2:30 pm, after which attendees will have the opportunity to visit the temple for darshan.
