Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the determination of the Iranian people forced US and Israeli forces to withdraw during what he described as a 40-day conflict, according to Iranian state media. Speaking at a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, he emphasized the importance of accurately portraying the events and achievements of that period. He highlighted the role of effective and creative storytelling in presenting the nation’s accomplishments during the conflict.
Pezeshkian remarked that despite facing powerful adversaries, the resilience of the Iranian people led to their retreat, calling it a major strategic success. He stressed that public awareness and participation played a crucial role in countering attempts to create instability, instead strengthening national unity. He also accused the opposing forces of using unlawful methods when they became desperate, claiming they targeted essential infrastructure such as service centers, schools, and medical facilities—actions he described as violations of human rights and international law.
Rejecting the idea that increased pressure would weaken public morale, he said that such actions actually resulted in stronger public engagement and a greater sense of responsibility among citizens. He added that relying on people’s capabilities can help solve national challenges more effectively. US President Donald Trump said the United States was close to achieving victory against Iran, pointing to progress in military efforts. He described Iran as a capable opponent but claimed its military strength had been significantly weakened, including the destruction of much of its naval fleet. His remarks come amid rising tensions in West Asia and ongoing diplomatic and security developments between the two nations.
