Petrol, Diesel Prices Today, September 23: Check Latest Fuel Rates in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Other Cities

Petrol and diesel prices remained largely unchanged across major Indian cities on Wednesday, September 23, with no fresh revision in retail fuel rates reported for the day. In Delhi, petrol is being sold at ₹102.12 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹95.20 per litre. Mumbai residents are paying ₹111.21 per litre for petrol and ₹97.83 per litre for diesel. In Bengaluru, petrol costs ₹111.68 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹99.56 per litre. Chennai recorded a petrol price of ₹107.77 per litre, with diesel available at ₹99.55 per litre. In Kolkata, petrol is retailing at ₹113.51 per litre and diesel at ₹99.82 per litre. Among the other cities, Hyderabad has petrol at ₹116.15 per litre and diesel at ₹104.23 per litre.

Fuel rates can differ significantly from one city to another because the final retail price includes several components, including central and state taxes, transportation expenses, refining costs and dealer-related charges. State-level taxation is one of the key reasons motorists in different parts of the country pay different prices for the same fuel.

Global crude oil prices are another important factor for Indias fuel market. However, a movement in international oil prices does not necessarily result in an immediate change in domestic petrol and diesel rates. Currency fluctuations, taxes, refining expenses and other market factors also influence the price ultimately paid by consumers.
