A shocking incident unfolded on VIP Road near Rev-3 Mall yesterday afternoon when Shivam Mishra, the son of prominent tobacco businessman KK Mishra, allegedly drove his ₹6 crore Lamborghini Aventador recklessly, ramming into pedestrians, an auto-rickshaw, and a parked motorcycle. Six people suffered injuries ranging from fractures to severe leg trauma in the mayhem.
Eyewitnesses reported the crash around 3:15 PM. The Delhi-registered supercar first sideswiped an autorickshaw before veering out of control, striking a Royal Enfield bike and flinging rider Taufiq Ahmed nearly 10 feet. Ahmed sustained critical leg injuries, while five others escaped with bruises and broken bones. Sources indicate Shivam was intoxicated and speeding, attempting to flee the scene with his security team in tow.
An angry mob quickly intervened, smashing the cars windows and pulling the driver out. His bouncers reportedly pushed back at onlookers, heightening tensions until Gwal Toli police arrived. Officers impounded the mangled Lamborghini and rushed all involved, including Shivam, to a nearby hospital for medical tests, including checks for alcohol influence.
The vehicle, bearing an RTO code from Rohini, Delhi, is under seizure as authorities file an FIR. Shivam blood alcohol levels are being verified, and a full investigation is underway. No arrests have been made yet, but the case has ignited public fury over elite privilege on Indian roads. This crash adds to a troubling pattern of high-speed luxury car mishaps involving affluent drivers. With India reporting over 150,000 road fatalities annually—many linked to speeding and DUI—incidents like this fuel calls for tougher enforcement and accountability.
