Haryana Tourism Department will organise special “Heritage and City Walks” at six major historical locations across the state on May 30 in an effort to promote Haryana’s rich cultural legacy and connect people with its traditions and history. Announcing the initiative on Tuesday, Haryana Minister Arvind Sharma said the programme is aimed at bringing the state’s heritage closer to the public while also introducing the younger generation to Haryana’s historical identity. He noted that the Haryana Tourism Corporation regularly organises cultural and tourism-related activities at both national and international levels to strengthen the state’s identity and encourage public participation.
Sharma said the upcoming “Heritage and City Walks” would take place simultaneously at six important heritage sites across Haryana. To make participation easier, the Tourism Department has also provided QR codes for online registration. Inviting people to join the initiative, the minister said the programme would offer citizens an opportunity to explore and experience the state’s cultural richness firsthand.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini promoted the message of environmental awareness and fitness by cycling to Sukhna Lake for his morning walk on Tuesday. During his visit, Saini interacted with local residents and morning walkers while spreading the message of “Healthy India, Healthy Haryana.” The Chief Minister also announced that the Haryana government has prepared a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) aimed at reducing fuel consumption across government departments. The move follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation in view of global energy supply concerns and rising environmental challenges.
