Dean Cain has agreed to join the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of the agency’s current recruitment campaign aimed at expanding immigration enforcement under President Donald Trump’s administration. Speaking to Fox News host Jesse Watters, Cain explained that he decided to sign up after Watters posted an ICE recruitment video on Instagram. Cain, who is already a sworn deputy sheriff and reserve police officer, said the social media post sparked interest and led to discussions with ICE officials. He confirmed he will be sworn in as an agent “as soon as possible.”
Cain described the U.S. immigration system as “broken” and voiced his support for Trump’s policies, saying he wants to contribute to the president’s efforts. “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not. I believe this is the right thing to do,” he said. He added that while Congress needs to address systemic issues, he intends to help ICE meet its recruitment goals and “protect the country.”
Recently, Cain also criticized filmmaker James Gunn’s approach to Superman in his upcoming movie starring David Corenswet, arguing the character had been made “too woke.” Cain — who portrayed Superman in Lois Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993–1997) — questioned Hollywood’s tendency to alter classic characters for modern sensibilities.
Responding to Gunn’s comments that his film reflects “the story of America” and centers on an immigrant figure, Cain pointed to Superman’s long-standing motto, once “Truth, justice, and the American way,” and now “Truth, justice, and a better tomorrow.” He acknowledged America’s immigrant-friendly ideals but stressed the need for rules and limits. “You can’t come here wanting to change all the rules,” he said, adding that without boundaries, “society will fail.”
