China stated that its relationship with Bangladesh is not aimed at any 'third party.'

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman in Beijing on Wednesday, where both nations agreed to strengthen cooperation in trade, infrastructure, green development, and regional matters, according to a statement released by the Chinese government.
During the meeting, Wang Yi emphasized that China’s ties with Bangladesh and other South Asian countries are not aimed at any “third party” and should not be affected by outside influence. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian also described China and Bangladesh as “good neighbors and good partners” in a post on X.
China expressed support for Bangladesh’s new government in maintaining stability, boosting economic growth, and improving public welfare. Beijing also said it is ready to align the high-quality Belt and Road Initiative with Bangladesh’s national development plans. According to the statement, China is prepared to expand cooperation in key sectors including trade, investment, infrastructure, water management, cultural exchange, green development, and the digital economy. Wang Yi further noted that China would encourage capable Chinese companies to invest and operate in Bangladesh.
On regional issues, the Chinese foreign minister reiterated that Beijing’s relationship with Bangladesh and other South Asian nations is not targeted at any external country. China also pledged to enhance coordination with Bangladesh in multilateral and regional forums to promote peace and development.
Bangladesh, in turn, appreciated China’s continued support and expressed interest in deepening bilateral ties and elevating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries. Dhaka also welcomed increased Chinese investment and promised a stable and business-friendly environment for Chinese enterprises. Both sides additionally discussed regional and international matters of shared concern and later issued a joint statement summarizing the outcomes of the talks.
