Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, has reached Amaravati and is scheduled to participate in the AI-India Impact Summit.

Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, arrived in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, before heading to Delhi for the AI-India Impact Summit. He was received at Gannavaram Airport by Andhra Pradesh Minister and Telugu Desam Party leader Nara Lokesh, along with Home Minister V. Anitha, Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu, and Health Minister Satya Kumar.
In a message shared on X, Lokesh welcomed Gates and said discussions would focus on enhancing cooperation in health, agriculture, education, and technology-driven governance. He expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh’s partnership with the Gates Foundation would help deliver scalable and meaningful solutions for the state’s people. Gates is among several prominent global figures attending the AI Impact Summit, scheduled from February 16 to 20. Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the India AI Impact Expo 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Ahead of the event, the Prime Minister welcomed international delegates, stating that their participation reflects India’s growing capabilities in science and technology. He emphasized that the summit highlights the country’s rapid progress and its meaningful contribution to global development. The AI Impact Summit 2026, described as the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South, aims to present India’s vision of building inclusive, responsible, and impactful artificial intelligence, with a strong focus on sovereign AI.
