Union Minister Kishan Reddy unveils 'Ahimsa Stambh' in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Sep 6 (AHN) Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, on Sunday unveiled 'Ahimsa Stambh' in Miyapur, Hyderabad, to highlight the message of peace and non-violence.

Speaking on the occasion, he stated that the inauguration of the ‘Ahimsa Stambh’ is not merely the unveiling of a monument, but an effort to strengthen and preserve the timeless ideology of peace and ‘Ahimsa’ (non-violence) and carry its message forward to future generations.

The Central minister emphasised the profound relevance of Bhagwan Mahavir’s message, ‘Parasparopagraho Jīvānām’. Inscribed on the pillar, it means that all life is bound together by mutual support and interdependence.

He reaffirmed that at a time when conflicts and violence continue to affect several parts of the world, this message of mutual respect, harmony and peaceful coexistence is more important than ever.

Kishan Reddy highlighted that Bharat has always embodied the path of ‘Ahimsa’ and how the Narendra Modi Government’s efforts to end violence in Kashmir and restore peace and stability are significant steps in continuing to champion peace, dialogue and harmony.

He emphasised that non-violence is not a sign of weakness but a supreme strength.

He also stressed that the initiative of installing ‘Ahmisa Stambh’ reflects the strength of ‘Nari Shakti’ and Bharat’s women-led development. The women of the Jain community who took the initiative to organise this ceremony have demonstrated that women can lead in preserving our civilisational values and strengthening social harmony, he said.

He noted that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, development is being driven by women, citing the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam'—which provides for 33% reservation in the legislature—as a testament to this.

The Central minister shared that Hyderabad is a true melting pot of cultures, with its diversity and heritage serving as a powerful force behind the city’s growth and progress.

He acknowledged the role of diverse communities in Hyderabad's development, praising groups like the Jain, Brahmin, and Maheshwari communities for playing pivotal roles in the metropolis' economic, social, and cultural progress.

This spirit of ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’ will continue to propel Hyderabad to new heights and enable it to play a significant role in realising the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

He expressed the hope that, as part of achieving a 'Viksit Bharat', our cultural roots and values would be strengthened alongside economic and technological growth.

He called upon everyone to unite and defeat the selfish forces attempting to fragment society, emphasizing that standing together in unity serves as a powerful driving force for a 'Viksit Bharat'

Kishan Reddy urged the 'Gen-Z' youth to conquer the world through technology while never forsaking Indian cultural values. He advised parents to impart good values and cultural ethos to their children alongside material assets.
