Jaipur, July 31 (AHN) Rajasthan has received nearly 68,000 suggestions on the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) through various channels, including digital platforms, reflecting growing public engagement in the consultation process. Officials said fresh suggestions are being submitted daily as the government continues its outreach campaign to gather wider public opinion before framing the legislation.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Bhaskar Sawant shared the update during a review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas at the Secretariat on Thursday. He said feedback has been pouring in from across the state through multiple modes, with digital platforms playing a significant role in enabling citizen participation.
The state government has urged people to continue sharing their views to ensure that the consultation process is broad-based and inclusive. To facilitate greater participation, departments have been asked to make extensive use of digital communication tools such as WhatsApp, QR codes and SMS, making it easier for citizens to submit suggestions.
Chairing the meeting, Chief Secretary Srinivas directed district administrations and departmental officials to intensify public awareness campaigns so that people from all sections of society are informed about the consultation process and encouraged to participate.
He stressed that every effort should be made to maximise outreach, ensuring citizens across urban and rural areas have the opportunity to express their views on the proposed UCC.
Senior officials from the concerned departments attended the meeting, while Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors from across Rajasthan participated through video conferencing.
