MP emerging as key destination for tech investments, says CM Mohan Yadav

Bhopal, July 13 (AHN) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday said the state is emerging as a major destination for technology investments, making rapid progress in sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), data centres and semiconductor manufacturing.
Addressing the MP Tech Growth Conclave 3.0: GCC, Data Centre and Semiconductor in Bhopal, CM Yadav said the state had fulfilled the commitments made during the previous two editions of the conclave.
"In the last two years, we have fulfilled the commitments we made. The first two editions of the conclave received investment proposals worth Rs 46,000 crore. Twenty-two industrial units have been inaugurated, and four new projects have been launched. Since the Global Investors Summit 2025, more than Rs 12,000 crore has already been invested in the technology sector," he said.
The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh, once known mainly for agriculture, mining and forests, was now expanding into sectors such as defence manufacturing, drones, renewable energy and advanced technology.
"Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead rapidly in future-oriented sectors. The state government is committed to promoting AI, data centres, semiconductors and other technology-based industries," CM Yadav said.
During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated 20 industrial units and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Google Play India Lead and the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC).
He also announced the development of a three lakh square feet IT Park in Indore's IT Corridor and a four lakh square feet IT Park in Bhopal. The state will also establish a Semiconductor Centre of Excellence to promote skill development and strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem.
"The government is creating world-class infrastructure to support technology companies and attract more investment to Madhya Pradesh," CM Yadav said.
Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, addressing the event, said that investments worth more than Rs 12,000 crore in the digital and technology sector had already been implemented in the state.
He added that leading technology companies participating in the conclave were expected to announce investment proposals worth over Rs 40,000 crore. Among the major announcements, a Spain-based group reiterated its plan to set up a data centre in Madhya Pradesh. Another Semiconductor company announced an investment of Rs 6,000 crore in the state.
The conclave brought together government officials, industry leaders and technology companies to discuss investment opportunities in Global Capability Centres (GCCs), data centres and semiconductor manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh.
