Bhopal, Aug 25 (AHN) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday said the Mukhyamantri Jan Vishwas Abhiyan, underway for the past three weeks, has yielded encouraging results and directed district collectors to ensure wider public participation in the initiative.
The Chief Minister asked collectors to provide advance information about the Jan Vishwas camps so citizens, government employees, and public representatives have enough time to prepare and participate. He suggested that if Friday is declared a holiday due to a special occasion or festival, the camp should be organised on Saturday instead.
Yadav made these assertions and issued directions during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday after reviewing the campaign's progress and other governance-related issues. He has been personally leading the campaign every Friday since launching it from Chhindwara on August 7. The initiative aims to take administration closer to people and resolve grievances through direct interaction.
The campaign is a field‑oriented governance initiative under which ministers, legislators and officials interact with citizens, review implementation of government schemes and take up pending grievances.
Yadav also directed all ministers to organise a two‑day ‘Chintan Shivir’ in September to hold detailed discussions with departmental officials on major works and schemes implemented during the past two‑and‑a‑half years.
With the monsoon nearing its final phase, the Chief Minister directed officials to conduct a comprehensive review of drainage arrangements after the rainy season and prepare an action plan to ensure uninterrupted drain flow.
He said excessive rainfall often causes drains to overflow in urban local bodies and panchayat areas, leading to waterlogging on streets and in houses. He added that the action plan should be implemented effectively to prevent recurrence of such problems.
