Gujarat govt assigns additional charges to 16 officers

Gandhinagar, July 27 (AHN) The Gujarat government on Monday assigned additional responsibilities to 16 senior Gujarat Administrative Service (GAS) and Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers through an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), making a series of interim administrative arrangements across state departments, corporations and district-level offices.
The order states that the officers will hold the additional charges until further orders or until the officers currently holding those responsibilities are relieved, following recent transfers.
Among the key appointments, V.K. Patel, GAS (Senior Scale), Executive Director of the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), has been assigned the additional charge of another Executive Director post at GIDC, Gandhinagar, until B.K. Joshi, IAS, is relieved of the additional charge.
Y.S. Chaudhari, GAS (Selection Scale), Joint Managing Director of the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, has been given the additional charge of Managing Director of the Gujarat Rural Industries Marketing Corporation Limited (GRIMCO) following the transfer of A.K. Prajapati, GAS.
M.R. Prajapati, GAS (Senior Scale), Secretary of the Sports Authority of Gujarat, will additionally serve as Officer on Special Duty at the Gujarat Maritime Board after her transfer.
Y.B. Jhala, GAS (Selection Scale), Additional Inspector General of Registration, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Additional Collector in the Office of the Superintendent of Stamps and Inspector General of Registration until I.R. Vala, IAS, is relieved of that responsibility.
The order also assigns K.B. Patel, GAS (Senior Scale), Additional Director in the Office of the Commissioner of Geology and Mining, the additional charge of Director of the Chief Minister Helpline Co-ordination Unit.
N.U. Pathan, GAS (Senior Scale), Deputy Director at the Regional Training Centre of SPIPA, Vadodara, has been appointed Additional Collector (Irrigation), Vadodara, following the transfer of B.H. Patel, IAS.
In Vadodara, M.C. Pandya, GAS (Senior Scale), Additional Collector in the Office of the Regional Commissioner of Municipalities, has been given the additional charge of Additional Collector (Narmada).
A.D. Joshi, GAS (Senior Scale), General Manager of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), Ahmedabad, will hold an additional General Manager post within the corporation.
Further appointments include P.V. Gondaliya, GAS (Senior Scale), Member Secretary of the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, who has been assigned the additional charge of Registrar of the Gujarat State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Ahmedabad.
C.A. Gohil, GAS (Senior Scale), Executive Director of the Gujarat Council of Science City, will additionally serve as Deputy Director of SPIPA, Ahmedabad.
The government has also appointed V.K. Sambad, GAS (Senior Scale), Chief Executive Officer of the Bhavnagar Area Development Authority (BHADA), as Additional Collector in the Office of the Regional Commissioner of Municipalities, Bhavnagar.
P.P. Patel, GAS (Senior Scale), Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Rajkot Municipal Corporation, has been given the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer of the Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA).
At the district level, P.H. Galchar, GAS (Junior Scale), Deputy District Development Officer, Rajkot, has been assigned the additional charge of Director of the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Rajkot.
Pinakini Bhagora, GAS (Junior Scale), Deputy District Development Officer, Narmada-Rajpipla, will additionally serve as Director of DRDA, Narmada-Rajpipla. At the same time, A.V. Dangi, GAS (Junior Scale), Deputy District Development Officer, Valsad, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Director of DRDA, Valsad.
The order also assigns Vandana Meena, IAS, Project Administrator of the Tribal Area Sub Plan, Mahisagar-Lunawada, the additional charge of Project Administrator of the Tribal Area Sub Plan, Aravalli-Modasa, following the transfer of Hiren Barot, IAS.
