Gandhinagar, May 12 (AHN) The Central government has made annual e-KYC mandatory for all beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, with Gujarat’s Agriculture Department urging farmers across the state to complete the process before June 30, to continue receiving instalments under the scheme.
According to a notification issued by the Office of the Director of Agriculture, all registered beneficiaries will now have to complete e-KYC every financial year, using biometric verification or face authentication, before the release of the first instalment.
The process for the 2026-27 financial year has already begun.
Officials said financial assistance under the PM-KISAN scheme would now be provided only to beneficiaries who have successfully completed the authentication process.
The department has appealed to all eligible farmers in Gujarat to ensure compliance within the stipulated deadline to avoid disruption in benefits.
The Agriculture Department stated that beneficiaries can complete the verification process through three methods.
Under the first option, farmers can perform face authentication through the PM-KISAN mobile application by contacting village-level officials, such as Gram Sevaks or Village Nodal Officers.
The second method allows beneficiaries to visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or e-Gram centre to complete biometric authentication and e-KYC.
Under the third option, beneficiaries can independently complete the process using the PM-KISAN mobile application. Farmers can log in as a “Beneficiary” and authenticate themselves using either their Aadhaar number or registration number.
The department said that a beneficiary using the application can also assist up to 100 other beneficiaries in completing face-authentication-based e-KYC.
The department also issued a special appeal to beneficiaries residing outside their native villages or who have migrated elsewhere for work or other reasons.
Such farmers have been requested to complete the process from their current location using any available method before the deadline.
The PM-KISAN scheme, launched by the central government in 2019, provides income support to eligible farmer families through direct benefit transfers in instalments during the financial year.
