Mumbai, June 29 (AHN) Actress Genelia D'Souza marked the auspicious occasion of ‘Vat Purnima’ remembering her ‘navra’ (husband) Riteish Deshmukh as she took a dip in the holy Ganga.
Taking to her social media account, the doting wife shared a serene video of her taking a dip in the holy Ganga River.
Sharing the clip, Genelia wrote, "took a dip on #VatPurnima & remembered you - my navra @riteishd."
The video captures the fast-flowing Ganga River, with Genelia taking a dip in the sacred waters, and offering her followers a glimpse of the holy river on the occasion of Vat Purnima.
Talking about Genelia and Riteish, the couple is considered as one of Bollywood's most-loved couples.
The two first met while shooting for their debut film, ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’, in the early 2000s. Their friendship gradually blossomed into love, and after dating for nearly a decade, they tied the knot on February 3, 2012, in both Maharashtrian and Christian wedding ceremonies.
Their social media accounts are filled with funny banter, romantic moments and heartwarming family videos, giving fans a glimpse into their life with their sons, Riaan and Rahyl, and their pet dog, Flash.
On the work front, Riteish and Genelia were last seen together in the Marathi blockbuster ‘Raja Shivaji’.
For the uninitiated, talking about ‘Vat Purnima', it is an important Hindu festival observed by married women, particularly in Maharashtra, Gujarat and other parts of northern India.
On this day, married women pray for the long life, good health and prosperity of their husbands and marital life, drawing inspiration from the legend of Savitri and Satyavan.
Many women observe a fast, worship the banyan tree (Vat Vriksha), and perform rituals seeking blessings for their spouse's well-being.
