Mumbai, June 27 (AHN) Shiv Sena MP Jyoti Waghmare on Saturday accused the UBT faction-led Chief Uddhav Thackeray of "changing colours like a chameleon" after he shared the same commercial flight with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis a day before.
Speaking to AHN, Waghmare said: "(Operation) Tiger 2.0 has been a success. Six MPs from Shiv Sena-UBT have left their leader (Uddhav Thackeray), who prefers to stay at home, and joined the respected Eknath Shinde ji for the development of Maharashtra. A few days ago, we also saw reports that even their (Shiv Sena-UBT) MLAs are no longer attending their meetings."
"Now it's time for Shiv Sena-UBT to reflect. They need to introspect and ask themselves why people are leaving them," she added.
The Shiv Sena leader said: "They (Shiv Sena-UBT) do not stand by their party workers in times of joy or hardship. They are not concerned about the people; their only focus is on establishing (Uddhav Thackeray's son) Aditya Thackeray in Maharashtra's politics. That is why people are bound to abandon such dynastic politicians."
Responding to pictures of Uddhav Thackeray seated beside CM Fadnavis in a flight, Jyoti Waghmare said: "What really surprises me is Uddhav Thackeray... just a few days ago, what kind of abusive language were you using against Devendra Fadnavis ji? Weren't you saying, 'Either you will remain, or I will'? Then how did you end up sitting with him on the same flight?"
"What all did you (Uddhav Thackeray) call him (Chief Minister Fadnavis)? A 'stain,' 'Afzal Khan's Army,' and many other things. So, are you going to keep changing your colours like a chameleon just for the sake of politics? In fact, looking at how often these people change their colours, even a chameleon would feel like committing suicide," she added.
On Friday, Uddhav Thackeray, along with senior party leaders, including Aaditya Thackeray, Sanjay Raut, and Anil Desai, travelled from Mumbai to Nagpur on the same commercial plane as the Maharashtra CM.
Addressing the media during his tour in Yavatmal on Saturday, Uddhav Thackeray sent a clear wave of anticipation across the political landscape saying, "We had a high-level discussion with the Chief Minister on the flight."
"The full report of yesterday's meeting and whatever has been decided will become clear in the coming days."
The Shiv Sena-UBT Chief reiterated that details of their "high-level discussion" would emerge soon.
