The U.S. officials said Iran's latest proposal is not sufficient and warned it could lead to renewed conflict.

The Trump administration has called Iran’s latest peace proposal “insufficient,” warning that talks could fail and military action may resume if Iran does not make major changes to its nuclear stance. According to Axios, the proposal was sent through Pakistani intermediaries and shows only minor changes from Iran’s earlier position. US officials said it does not address key concerns, especially uranium enrichment and nuclear oversight. The US and Iran are not yet negotiating final terms but are trying to set a framework for future talks. Pakistan has played a mediating role, with its Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi helping exchange messages between both sides. Tensions remain high as the US insists Iran must limit enrichment and accept stricter monitoring, while Iran demands sanctions relief and security guarantees. Despite efforts, US officials say major differences still remain.
