Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticised the AAP government in Punjab over the killing of anti-drug activist Parminder Singh Jhota in Mansa, alleging that speaking out against drug abuse has become dangerous under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s administration. Gandhi questioned the police action allegedly taken against Jhota after he filed a complaint about drugs. He also cited other incidents to raise concerns about the safety of people fighting drug abuse and demanded accountability from the state government. Punjab Police and Rajasthan Police arrested the alleged main shooter in Salasar, Rajasthan. Following the arrest, the district administration carried out a demolition drive at the accused’s residence amid heavy security.
