PTI's PoJK Chapter Claims Election Boycott, Sparse Voting and Ranger Gunfire During Rawalakot Protest

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) chapter has criticised the ongoing legislative assembly elections, alleging that the process lacks transparency, public trust, and genuine political representation. In posts on X, PTI PoJK claimed polling stations witnessed extremely low voter turnout while large numbers of people took part in protests demanding their rights. The party said it boycotted the elections because free and fair polls were not possible under the current circumstances. PTI PoJK also alleged that Pakistan Rangers used force, including firing, against protesters during a long march in Rawalakot, resulting in casualties and injuries. It further accused the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of ignoring public demands and supporting what it described as a flawed electoral process. The allegations made by PTI PoJK have not been independently verified, and Pakistani authorities had not issued an immediate response.
