The Mecca Joint Defence Agreement signed by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye reportedly includes mutual defence, intelligence-sharing, military cooperation and counter-terrorism commitments. According to UK-based Middle East Eye, the 16-article pact treats an externally originating armed attack against one signatory as an attack against all three, resembling NATO's collective defence principle. The agreement also provides for sharing intelligence through secure channels, logistical assistance during conflicts and emergencies, and cooperation in defence production. It will remain in force indefinitely after ratification, with withdrawal prohibited during the first 10 years.
