India showcased its military strength at the 77th Republic Day parade on January 26, 2026, highlighting weapons used in Operation Sindoor. The parade featured missiles, tanks, mechanised units, and aircraft, with Navy and Air Force displays tracing India’s maritime and aerial capabilities. International guests included European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. President Droupadi Murmu awarded the Ashoka Chakra to Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian to visit the International Space Station. About 10,000 guests witnessed the event, which combined military might with cultural unity under the theme ‘Vividata Mein Ekta’.
