Bhupender Yadav Welcomes BRICS Environment Ministers, Calls for Deeper Environmental Cooperation

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav welcomed ministers and delegates from BRICS countries at the 12th BRICS Environment Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday. Held under India’s 2026 BRICS Chairship theme, "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability," the meeting focuses on strengthening cooperation in sustainable lifestyles, afforestation and forest-fire management, circular economy and climate adaptation. Yadav said India looks forward to meaningful discussions and stronger collaboration among BRICS nations to deliver positive environmental outcomes. The two-day meeting follows technical consultations held by India between March and July to build consensus on key environmental priorities.
