Narendra Modi is set to offer prayers at the revered Dat Kali Mata Temple, located at the gateway to Uttarakhand, during his upcoming visit on Tuesday. The ceremony will feature schoolchildren chanting mantras, for which rehearsals are already underway at the temple. The visit coincides with the inauguration of the much-anticipated Dehradun–Delhi Expressway, a major infrastructure project aimed at improving regional connectivity.

Extensive preparations have been completed for the Prime Minister’s visit. The temple premises, the starting point of the expressway, and the entire green corridor have been decorated with murals and other enhancements. Authorities have also put in place strict security arrangements across the area to ensure a smooth and safe event.

The 210-kilometre-long, six-lane greenfield expressway has been constructed at a cost of over ₹12,000 crore. Once operational, it is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Dehradun and Delhi from around five hours to approximately two and a half hours, providing a major boost to transportation efficiency and economic activity in the region.

Ahead of the visit, Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a detailed on-ground inspection from Jaswant Ground in Garhi Cantt to the temple. He reviewed arrangements related to security, traffic management, parking, drinking water, electricity, sanitation, and other essential services. He instructed officials to complete all preparations on time while maintaining high-quality standards to ensure public convenience.

Emphasizing tight security and coordination among agencies, the Chief Minister also stressed efficient traffic planning and the availability of emergency services. He directed that all arrangements, including stage setup and seating, reflect the scale and dignity of the occasion, with special focus on cleanliness and beautification.
