Uttarakhand Police have filed an FIR against unknown individuals for vandalizing facilities related to the Kedarnath Yatra.

Uttarakhand Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals for allegedly damaging public amenities, including toilets and other facilities, set up for the convenience of pilgrims along the Kedarnath Yatra route. Officials stated that these facilities were installed to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for devotees.
In a post on X, the police confirmed that an investigation has been launched and efforts are underway to identify those responsible for the vandalism. Authorities emphasized that such acts will be dealt with strictly. Another FIR was filed after a video circulated on social media alleging irregularities in darshan arrangements at the Kedarnath Temple. Officials clarified that the video was detected during routine monitoring in Rudraprayag district and contained misleading claims suggesting that devotees were being denied entry for darshan.
Following this, legal action was initiated against the individual who shared the video, with a case registered at Sonprayag police station. Authorities also reported that 4–5 other suspicious videos are under review, and strict action will be taken against those found spreading misinformation.
The state administration reiterated that arrangements for the Char Dham Yatra are running smoothly, ensuring orderly darshan for pilgrims. A zero-tolerance policy has been adopted toward rumours and false information, with social media platforms under continuous monitoring. The pilgrimage began on Akshaya Tritiya (April 19), and has already witnessed a large influx of devotees.
