Former U.S. President Donald Trump has called for the immediate dismissal of the corruption trial against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, labeling the proceedings a politically driven “witch hunt.” In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed disbelief that Israel would continue with the trial despite being in a time of war, and praised Netanyahu’s leadership, describing him as a strong and dedicated leader who deeply loves Israel. Trump recounted their shared efforts against Iran, commending Netanyahu for his role in defending the country and leading it through critical moments.

Trump also praised Israel’s recent military campaign, ‘Operation Rising Lion,’ launched on June 13 to target Iranian nuclear sites. He credited Netanyahu for the operation’s success, claiming it prevented Iran from achieving near-term nuclear weapons capability. According to Trump, no other leader could have delivered such results, describing Netanyahu as a "warrior" who fought for the very survival of Israel.

Reiterating his belief that the trial is politically motivated, Trump criticized the legal proceedings that have been ongoing since 2020, marking the first time a sitting Israeli prime minister has faced trial. He warned that without Netanyahu's leadership during the war, Israel would have faced failure and disgrace. Trump asserted that just as the U.S. has stood by Israel, it will now help Netanyahu through what he called a “horror show.”

Netanyahu, who has denied all charges, is set to appear in court on June 30. He faces multiple allegations of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust across three cases. In addition to the ongoing domestic trial, the International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants accusing him of war crimes and crimes against humanity linked to actions taken during the military campaign in Gaza.
