Tom Holland Begins Filming 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'; Highlights from Day 1 of Shooting

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially kicked off production. The actor recently confirmed via Instagram that filming for the much-anticipated movie has begun. Holland posted behind-the-scenes photos of himself in a brand-new Spider-Man suit, captured while discussing an action sequence with the crew. He was seen standing atop military-style machinery, secured with a stunt harness.
“Spider-Man Brand New Day 1,” he captioned the post. Fans flooded the comments with excitement, eagerly reacting to the production update and showing curiosity about Holland’s updated suit design. The filmmakers had earlier unveiled a first-look image of the suit, featuring bold black webbing over a vivid red-and-blue color scheme. Holland soon followed up with a video, giving fans a more detailed view of the costume. In the teaser, shot on set, he sported a design reminiscent of the classic suits worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, asking fans, “We ready?”
Brand New Day is the fourth installment in the MCU’s Spider-Man series, continuing Tom Holland’s journey as Peter Parker, which began with Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), followed by Far From Home and No Way Home. The previous film concluded with Peter Parker’s identity being exposed to the world, leading him to seek Doctor Strange’s help to erase everyone’s memory of him. The upcoming film is expected to follow a storyline in line with that arc, though specific plot details remain undisclosed.
In addition to Holland, the cast includes Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles, with new additions like Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, as reported by Variety. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has also joined the ensemble. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated for release on July 31, 2026.
